Situated in a little corner on the Isle of Ireland is a place called Derry~Londonderry. In the Northwest tip of Ireland you will find our store, an Aladdin’s cave some may call it, or Mary Poppins bag – a shop that just keeps on giving.

Here we do things a little differently – we care. The care is in the team. We are human, its service with a personality, and we do our best for our customers.

You could call us a one-stop shop. With humble beginnings in supplying animal feed we have steadily grown to become a leading bricks and mortar store in the provision of all things equestrian, feed, agricultural products. Pre-pandemic we delved into the homeowner/gardening sector supplying a key selection of useful products for our green-fingered customers. Now we are an essential stop on the shopping list for every household.

But its not just our two legged customers who we want to satisfy. Our focus is on our four legged customers. We house a mighty selection of feed for horses, sheep, cattle, pigs, poultry, donkeys, goats, dogs and cats. We feed the animals of the northwest.

Our Heritage

1935 Block by Block

W&J Chambers established as manufacturers of concrete blocks

2004 Four legs forward

W&J Chambers acquired John Thompsons Feed Mill in Drumahoe. The company expanded into animal feeds, agricultural products and equestrian equipment

2005 Ramping up the gears

The warehouse was expanded to increase the retail shop floor. There was a greater focus on supplying equestrian products and equine feed including Bluegrass, Spillers, Baileys, Dengie, Harry Hall, Toggi, Hunter, Masta

2006 Youthful new paradigm

The fourth generation of the Chambers family joined the growing business

2016 All brands on deck

The store acquired a range of new equestrian brands. We became key stockists for major brands such as Charles Owen, Racesafe, Covalliero, Brogini, Shires, Coldstream, Champion, Carr Day & Martin, Omega Equine, Thunderbrook, Cameo Ireland

2017 Eventful

The team launched our first major in-store Christmas shopping event. And what a success it was

2018 Number 1

W&J Chambers sales of Pegus Cool Mix horse feed skyrocketed and our store became the largest supplier in Northern Ireland

2019 Knowledge is key

Rachel qualified as a SQP (suitably qualified person) to advise customers on horse wormers in store
